About Me
I’m a landscape photographer based in Austin, Texas. My love of photography started with my love for the outdoors. Back in middle school, my parents took us to Grand Teton National Park. As the mountains came into focus, my jaw dropped. At that time, it was the most beautiful scene I had ever seen. From then on, every summer trip we took was to the mountains. I fell in love with hiking and began to realize that the most beautiful views were often found further down the trail. Eventually, I realized that my phone didn’t do these grand landscapes justice. I felt that I couldn’t effectively take pictures that made me feel like I was back in the scene. This is when I upgraded to a camera and what started my landscape photography journey.
My approach to landscape photography is rooted in observation and preparation. I spend significant amounts of time researching trails, potential photo locations, studying light and seasonal conditions, and thinking through compositions before ever setting foot on the trail. Once in the field, I move with purpose, but always remain open to exploring whatever opportunities the light gives me. Every image is made with the intention of getting it right, rather than simply getting it done.
The goal is simple: to capture what I see as faithfully as possible, and for the viewer to feel as though they were standing there beside me at the moment the photo was taken. This site exists first as a place to share that work; select images are available as prints for those who want to bring a piece of that experience home.
