Colchuck

This image was taken during a one day thru-hike of the beautiful Enchantments area near Leavenworth, Washington. While the terrain is beautiful, the hike is tough! It is about a 22 mile hike with 6,000 feet of elevation gain. I took this shot at the first stop on this hike - beautiful Colchuck Lake. I loved the deep blue water and the beautiful white granite slabs surrounding the lake. With Dragontail Peak rising in the background, it made for an easy place to photograph! On the left of Dragontail Peak (the mountain in the center), you can see Aasgard Pass. To continue our hike deeper into The Enchantments, we had to climb up that!
