Glacier National Park is a hiker’s paradise with over 700 miles of trails. Many of Glacier’s treasures can only be reached on foot. Cracker Lake is a great example. Found buried in an alpine basin, this lake is 6 miles deep in the backcountry. While the trail is long, it isn’t particularly difficult, making the reward-to-effort ratio quite high! On the day we hiked it, the weather forecast was looking quite gloomy. Rain and clouds was forecasted for the entire day. Somehow, as we approached the basin, the clouds began to lift - revealing this stunning scene. As we packed up to leave, the clouds seemed to sock back in, which made me realize just how lucky we were to capture this moment.
