This photo represents my first foray into night sky photography. A couple friends and I were up on the South Rim and I had decided to bring a “fast” lens - basically just a lens that would allow me to capture dark conditions better. After scouting out some compositions in the evening, I set my alarm for 3 AM. When I opened my tent, I could see the whole Milky Way shooting across the sky. I stumbled out of my nice, warm sleeping bag and found this agave on the edge of the South Rim. I was pretty excited with the result!
