Desert Tower
I took this image at one of my favorite places in the park - the ridge at the end of the Lost Mine Trail. From the top, there are so many beautiful vistas and compositions. This one was captured looking towards a prominent spire right off the edge of the ridge, backdropped by the Chisos Mountains. I loved this composition because of the shapes. The spire itself is beautiful and is almost perfectly dissected by the sun. The rock in the foreground is sharp, textured, and leads the viewer’s eye towards the tower - which is the main subject of the image. The small desert flower in the rock adds some beautiful colors to the scene that wouldn’t have existed without it.
