Kolob Canyons, the less-visited, more-remote side of Zion National Park is full of dramatic orange spires and narrow canyons. This image was captured on one of the trails in this region of the national park. The mountain in the scene is Paria Point, one of the prominent and impressive peaks in Kolob Canyons. I used a very slow shutter speed to capture the motion blur on the water - which smooths out the composition and connects the foreground to the background. Additionally, the ice formations on top of the creek on the sides of each channel was amazing. I love the colors in this image - which range from the cool white tones of the ice to the fiery orange hues of Paria Point in the background.
