Far above the lush green valleys of North Cascades National Park lies a remote alpine zone full of dramatic peaks, glaciers, and mountain goats. This specific image was taken from Sahale Glacier Camp, a 13 mile, 4,000 feet of gain hike from the trailhead. This campsite is often considered the loneliest campsite in America. But not to worry - the goats will keep you company! Goats were all over the campsite - looking for salt deposits left behind by humans. The one pictured was perched dramatically in front of one of the most epic scenes in the entire Pacific Northwest.
