Lake Josephine, located about 1 mile away from the trailhead, is one of my favorite places in the entire park. It is a beautiful, glacially fed alpine lake with the majestic Mount Gould set as the backdrop. Similar to other lakes in the area, the shoreline of Lake Josephine is littered with bright red rocks. The contrast between the bright rocks and the shadow on the mountain was stunning.
