Lake Louise, one of the turquoise gems of the Canadian Rockies, is backdropped by Fairweather Mountain and Mount Aberdeen in this image. This photo was taken from the Little Beehive, a moderate hike that leaves from the shores of beautiful Lake Louise. I shot this scene early in the summer season, hence the significant snowpack remaining on the mountains. The lake color is a beautiful aquamarine color. Later in the summer, as the glaciers above the lake melt at a faster rate, the lake becomes a brighter, milkier shade of blue.
