This picture was taken from the top of Bukhansan, an incredibly famous mountain within the city limits of Seoul, South Korea. My friend that I was visiting recommended we climb it for sunrise - which turned out to be a genius idea. He referred to the mountain as “Local Peak” and kept warning me that it was no joke of a climb. He was right. After what felt like 2,000 stairs, we finally reached the top right before sunrise and the crowds. After taking the obligatory peak photo, I turned my attention towards the landscape. I wanted to capture the striking granite dome on the left of the image. When combined with the city and the layered stone in the foreground, it made for my favorite composition I captured during my time in South Korea.
