Avalanche Lake is a beautiful destination on the west side of the park - reached on foot by a moderate 6 mile hike. There are several waterfalls behind the lake that make for a stunning backdrop. I found this little plant on top of a massive old log on the shoreline. It stood out because of its bright green color against the muted browns of the log. I was glad I could have the waterfalls as a gorgeous backdrop for this image!
