River of Ice

I took this image out the window of a scenic flight tour around Denali. These tours leave from Talkeetna and are decently affordable. If you can afford it, I highly recommend - it’s an experience like no other. I took this image near the end of our tour as we headed back to Talkeetna. We had flown down the Ruth Glacier and could see more exposed ice become visible as we got closer to the toe of the glacier. I love this image because it shows the life of a glacier. You can see the snow-covered parts near the top of the frame and the exposed, blue ice near the bottom. The medial moraine (dark line in the center) guides the eye from the bottom of the image to the top.
