This picture was taken from the top of Bukhansan, an incredibly famous mountain within the city limits of Seoul, South Korea. My friend that I was visiting recommended we climb it for sunrise - which turned out to be a genius idea. He referred to the mountain as “Local Peak” and kept warning me that it was no joke of a climb. He was right. After what felt like 2,000 stairs, we finally reached the top right before sunrise and the crowds. I took this photo of the sun rising over Seoul - the strong haze from the city allowed us to see the sun rise all the way up into the sky - with no need for sunglasses. The haze also increased the vibrance of the colors surrounding the sun. This was a pretty great way to finish my tour of Seoul. At the top of Local Peak, my friend was pointing out all of the sights we had seen in previous days, which was pretty cool!
