Through the Thorns

I captured this image on a little-visited ridge atop the South Rim in Big Bend. I found this agave perched right on the rim and lined the thorns up with the rising sun. For this photo, I focused on the dramatic, impressive sunrise blazing through the agave. My favorite theme in this image is the thorns on the center arm of the agave glinting as they catches the first rays of morning light.
