My favorite activity in nature is hiking - by a long shot. While I went to South Korea primarily to visit my good friend, I also wanted to see what Korean mountains looked like and conquer the country’s toughest trails. With that in mind, we set off (via bullet train) to the Korean countryside and began our summit of Woraksan. While the base-to-peak elevation of the mountain was “only” 2,700 feet, the toughest part of the hike was several false summits. We followed the trail and scrambled up and down these false summits for about an hour before reaching the peak. I took this picture on top of one of the false summits, looking down to the valley far below. The lake sprawling out below was an amazing sight to see from the top of Woraksan.
